Freddie Gibbs - "Cold Day In Hell"
One of the better projects (and one of the few I was really hyped for) that was released on Halloween was Gangsta Gibbs latest effort Cold Day In Hell. I'm not so sure (need to listen to it some more) it's as good as some of his previous mixtapes like Midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik or The Miseducation Of Freddie Gibbs, but I still think it belongs in the top ten mixtapes of the year. First off, the artwork is really awesome and is at least top three of the year. That said, I'm glad the project isn't filled with just "bangers" and is a nice mix with some introspective, storytelling tracks. Dom Kennedy, Freeway, Juicy J, and Young Jeezy are a few of the guest appearances along with production from Beatnick & K-Salaam, Big K.R.I.T., Cardo, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, and more.

Yonas Michael - "Lost In Hollywood"
Formerly known as Y-O of the now broken up LA duo U-N-I, Lost In Hollywood is Yonas' first solo project since the split. Creative differences must have been the major thing (I don't it was said exactly what was the reason) that led to THURZ and Yonas going their separate ways after listening to this and LA Riot. The two projects are pretty much polar opposites. Umm where's the rapping? I understand this mixtape is "genre-defying", but there's just too much singing for me compared to rapping. Brooker T, Phil Adé, Polyester, Warm Weather make guest appearances along with a few other artists and AJ Subat, Faahz, Mainframe, and Ro Blvd provide most of the production.

A$AP Rocky - "LiveLoveA$AP"
The Harlem native finally released his highly anticipated second mixtape, LiveLoveA$AP. Features come from some of the other A$AP members (beware A$AP Ferg is terrible) as well as Chace Infinite, Main Attrakionz, ScHoolBoy Q, and SPACEGHOSTPURRP and production from Clams Casino (by far the best beats on the tape), A$AP Ty, SPACEGHOSTPURRP, The Olympicks, and more. Although Rocky is pretty average on the mic I still really like this project since the production he uses is great. There's nothing really special about him, but I just find him entertaining to listen to in the same light like Waka.

Gabe's Top 15 (October Edition)
Just like how we used to do The Buzz Monthly, here's the top fifteen songs I've been listening to lately. You may recognize some of the tracks from various projects I've posted and some are from projects I meant to post, but was just too lazy to actually do it. Hope you enjoy.

A Few New Tracks From SPEAK!
SPEAK! is one of my favorite artists at the moment, who's also one of the leading members in the Trillwave "movement". All three of these tracks are awesome. Two of the three tracks have features by frequent collaborators of his. The first is Like That (produced by Mid Town Pat) with SPACEGHOSTPURRP and the second is Dank with Vince Staples (produced by Syd from Odd Future). Then we have SPEAK! going solo on the third track, Promised Land, which is produced by Michael Uzowuru (formerly known as Afro Butterfly).

Inspired & The Sleep - "While We're Young"
Inspired & The Sleep is Max (AKA Eye Lid Kid) Greenhalgh's "revolving musical project", which consists of his solo work and band work with his fellow lifeguard coworkers. While We're Young is the first single to Max's solo debut, titled Teenagers, which he finished over the past summer. It's a fun little track (only 2 minutes and 27 seconds long) that seems to me as more of a teaser for what's to come from the LP. I also recommend checking out the band's EP, Kaleidoscope Years, which is on their Bandcamp along with Max's single.
I'm not sure if they have a Twitter account, but you can check out their Facebook page for more info.

Jesse Boykins III - I Can't Stay
Something different from me some R&B from JB3 he recently released a project with Theophilus (someone spell check that) London. Didn't get around to listening to that no to big of a fan of Theophilus or w/e so i might check it out later. Dude is so soulful his music just puts you in a good mood but enough of me talking heres the official video for I Can't Stay.
Asher Roth X Chuck Inglish - In The Kitchen

The Roots - "Make My"
Here's the first single from the Undun (in stores December 6th), which features the only guest artist on the album Big K.R.I.T. As usual, Black Thought delivers a great verse (I don't think he's ever spit a mediocre verse) and K.R.I.T. definitely holds his own. The production is just on another level (that bass line >). One of the few albums I'm really excited about for the end of 2011.
You can follow the members of the band on Twitter (Black Thought doesn't tweet and not sure if James Poyser has a Twitter) @questlove @kamalgray @FrankKnuckles @CaptainKDouglas @tubagoodingjr @markkelley.

Big K.R.I.T. - "Money On The Floor"
Was really looking forward to Live From The Underground on September 27th, but unfortunately it was pushed back until early next year (probably for the best). I don't think this will be officially on the album (I'm thinking this will either be a bonus track or on the EP he promised to release prior to the album), and it features Memphis legends 8Ball & MJG along with 2 Chainz....oh and the beat is a BANGER. K.R.I.T. can do no wrong.

G.o.D. Jewels - ReasonableMatic.
Today @ 12 G.o.D Jewels released ReasonableMatic a mini project before the release of his next full length project Glimpse of Destiny (the idea behind his titles was always so cool to me). This is easily my favorite offering of music Jewels which has me super excited for Glimpse of Destiny, the idea behind ReasonableMatic is to pay homage to two of the most influencial MCs of our generation Nas and Jay-z. G.O feels those two were the people who paved the way for a lot of artist and he has the ability to be the next taste maker of not just Chicago Hip-Hop but of the whole culture. buy/stream here or download here.

G.o.D Jewels - G.o.D As Usual

Childish Gambino - "Bonfire"
We first heard it live when Donald performed it during Comic Con weekend, then we got the censored snippet, then it was premiered on Hot97 a few days ago, and now we finally have the full version of the first single for Camp. You can buy Bonfire on iTunes tomorrow and the album is set to be released on November 15th. Also don't miss out on the Sign Up tour if there's a show in your area (I'm planning to go to the LA show).

Eric Sosa - Came Along Way
Eric Sosa's new visual for his single came along way, the idea behind it is so creative i've never seen anything like this. It matches the idea of the song perfect as he recalls memories throughout his lyrics in song and what better way to preserve a memory other then a taking a photo super cool treatment and execution of the video. buy his new single off itunes "one you" (can listen to the stream of it on his website below)

Rockie Fresh - No Fear.

Frank Ocean - Swim Good
My Favorite song of franks, and possibly my favorite video of his so far even though Thinking About You is realllllly good in its own right. when i listened to this song this is almost the exact same treatment i envisioned in my own head, i do treatments to all the songs i like and they rarely as close as this one was to my oringinal thought i mean minus the panda hat and the stretch limo its almost spot on.
Statik Selektah - "Play The Game"
First single from Statik's upcoming album, Population Control, which features Big K.R.I.T. and Freddie Gibbs. The album will be available on October 25th and features a ton of other artists such as Brother Ali, Bun B, Saigon, and Talib Kweli to name a few. You can check out the entire tracklist here as well as pre-order the album. While there's a few artists I personally don't enjoy featured on the album I'm sure it'll still be really good.

Sir Froderick - "FishHeads - EP"
Another new beat tape from Sir Froderick! He just keeps pumping them out on what seems like a weekly basis. This new EP seems more soulful and not as left field to me as "Qualm Monk - EP", nevertheless it's still great.
Download here
You can follow him on Twitter @sirfroderick and like him on Facebook.
JustUs - "Guns & RoseUs"
JustUs is a duo from Baltimore, MD. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but they definitely seem part of the trillwave (swag rap) movement going on now. The mixtape is essentially split into two acts; the "Guns" act and the "RoseUs" act. Awesome production throughout the tape from Best Kept Secret, DK The Punisher, Hit-Boy, Swiff D, Tyler, The Creator, and more (it's all pretty much synth-based beats). As far as rapping goes, these dudes are hilarious. It's more so during the "RoseUs" half of the tape like on the track "Film You/Lurk You"and what makes their lyrics so funny is that it's true for some individuals.
J.Blow - "Summer - EP"
If this was just a beat tape I'd absolutely love it (because honestly I wasn't feeling some of the raps). J.Blow, a DJ/producer based out of San Diego, CA originally from Milwaukee, WI, had a simple idea - to capture the vibe of summer - and I feel like he did exactly what he sought out to do. The beats are just so smooth and perfect for a summertime cruise.

EDF - Screw History
The Homie EDF hit me with the video for his Screw History the first single to his HiDEF project which is going to be released soon. "The track Screw History is a dedication to those who have come before him. Before EDF introduces himself, it's only right to introduce the platform that will allow him to express himself creatively as an artist out of Houston, TX. "

Cali Cam - Firm Biz
I saw my homie Howard Flozstello mention this on twitter. So I decided to give it a listen. "Cali Cam" is a San Diego artist a place not know for its hip hop scene but Cam has the potential to change that if he keeps going at this pace. He definitely has the potential to be a factor in this california music scene. My Favorit track on this project is "The Process" let us know what you think in the comment section! You can download the project here or on hulkshare here.

J.Nolan - "Round (Video)"
Thought this was a solid track to get introduced to J.Nolan's music and I love that jazzy beat. Also included down below is his latest album "Chaos Theory", which he says is how he coped with a period of depression he was going through and in turn sounds a lot more raw than his previous work (have not had the chance to listen to yet, so I can't compare). What really impressed me though was his great flow and word play (in both "Round" and throughout "Chaos Theory") not to mention a nice blend of braggadocio and thought provoking lyrics. Fans of "Golden Era" hip-hop will really like this.
