17 outta Los Angeles California, repping Arrogant Veggies with his manger anwar carrots earlier he dropped a record called "the panties" over the mos def song entitled the same thing and that made me a fan of his music. He dropped two other projects before this that i know of Cutomized Greatly 1 and 2 i kept telling myself to listen to it but i was just too amped for this and i thought it was coming out 5 months ago lol. Alot of TBD features on the tape, Dom Kennedy, Tyler the creator and BJ the Chicago Kid. On my favorite song he talks about his relationship with his grandmother and i only mentioned this because thats kinda personal to me cus thats one of the most imporant relationship to me (me and my grandparents) idk thats why that song is one of my favorites.

Possibly my favorite artist right now, and the final instillation to the inhale series proves why. The tape cover to cover is as solid of a project released this year by anyone...ANYONE. From the Intro to my favorite track on the cd Cardigan Sweater (produced by hero george featuring god jewels) to chi lights to top of the world the tape is just great. Its crazy to see the way the music matured from part 1 to part 2 to part 3 he saved the best for last obviously. Its hard to categorize his music as rap he harmonizes alot and does it welll but he doesnt slack on the lyric side of the music either and i feel like im talking to much we will just let the music speak check the link below.

Kendrick Lamar, I heard one of his songs earlier this month entitled "cut you off" and at the time it was like what i needed to hear. So as the week went on i started listen to more of him and then a few days later he dropped his latest project Overly Dedicated and its been all i listened to for the past few weeks. Hailing from compton he has a aggressive yet laid back style. He has one song on O.D. that has been my theme music for the past few days called the Heart part II take a listen to that and if you like it download or cop the cd on itunes actually mine as well do both.

First heard of this "kid" because of Levi Maestro he was always with him during Maestro Knows and Levi was always posting videos they made on vimeo so i listened then when they were touring with Anthony Hamilton I saw his skills on there to. So of course i looked for songs, mixtapes, and collaborations and to my suprise i found a bunch of stuff i had actually heard him before on a Dom Kennedy song but never followed up and didnt realize it until after the fact. He writes music for himself and other artist. He has two Mixtapes you can find after the jump and a song with Diz Gibran who you'll see in a later post.

If you follow me on twitter...which you should... (@travisbarkerson) you know that chiddy bang is like my favorite duo ever there like the philly Guru (rip) and Premier but of my generation. Don't lose focus was my theme music this summer. So yesterday i was introduced to a Canadian Rapper by the name of Shad (aka Shad K) from out of Canada. All i can say is...He is hip hop for real like 1994 in 2010 like pete rock and c.l. smooth- the main ingredient lol but by himself. I dont know who did most of the production on his latest body of work "TSOL" but its real good. Do yourself a favor and in which ever way you get your music get your hands on this cd you wont be disapointed check out the video below.

This is one of the few or should i say two songs i liked on this cd (cudi zone) we all have issues nobodies life is perfect this song is kind like the soundtrack to my life also, listening i remembered how hard my mom worked to get me the things i wanted now and back on those christmas past. Also he talks about people not believing in him i can relate at one point after i got hurt they said it was over for me i was the only one who believed well me and my brother now im headed to juco for two years im only getting started...sorry bout that rant i guess but this is one of the rare songs that evokes memories out of me. oh and ill more then likely post that dom tape when i find it
